My name is Stephanie Karamitsos, a 60-something visual artist from Chicago, IL. I sincerely credit my father Donald, for igniting and feeding my passion toward my artist’s world view. As a talented artist himself, Dad lovingly guided my path through my formative years. Then, over time, my artistic development progressed with an MFA in painting from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Performance Studies and Art History from Northwestern University.
Later on, my journey continued with two European sabbaticals where I explored and studied at hundreds of art museums and galleries. Throughout my life, I have flexed my ”art muscles” rigorously, participating in as many exhibition opportunities as possible. Now, at long last, I proudly consider myself a working visual artist. . .
